Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addresses young scientists on defence R&D and aerospace technology innovation

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has called upon India’s young scientists, engineers and designers to push the boundaries of defence research and development and create technologies that do not yet exist.

Addressing the importance of innovation in R&D, Singh highlighted the unique strength of research and development, where even a single individual can make a transformative contribution.

“R&D is a sector where a single individual can work wonders; that is the very strength of R&D,” Rajnath Singh said.

The Defence Minister urged young professionals to take up the challenge of developing cutting-edge capabilities that can strengthen India’s position in the global aerospace technology landscape over the coming decade.

Singh emphasised the need to encourage young scientists, engineers and designers to think beyond existing technologies and work towards solutions that can provide India with advanced capabilities in the future.

He also made a personal reference to his continued interest in aviation, noting that whenever the opportunity arises, he does not miss the chance to fly an aircraft and get into the cockpit.

His remarks underline the government’s focus on strengthening indigenous defence R&D, encouraging innovation and building advanced technological capabilities for India’s aerospace and defence sectors.
