“The Pain is Bearable”: Rashmika Mandanna Opens Up About Severe On-Set Hip Injury During Mysaa Shoot

By Editorial Team
Rashmika Mandanna shares an update about her detached hip tendon injury sustained while filming the action drama Mysaa.

Popular actor Rashmika Mandanna has officially broken her silence regarding a severe health setback that recently forced her to halt all film shoots.

Opening up for the first time on social media, the star revealed that she suffered a detached hip tendon while executing a high-energy dance sequence for her upcoming action drama, Mysaa.

Despite the alarming diagnosis, Rashmika struck an optimistic and cheerful note in her detailed personal statement, assuring fans: "It hurts, but it's not unbearable or something."
The Diagnosis: A Detached Hip Tendon

Addressing her absence and clearing up rumors, Rashmika adopted a lighthearted tone, writing, "Make way for the biology teacher," before explaining the exact nature of the injury:
"There are four tendons on each side of your hip that connect your hip to your leg, and one of those tendons on my right hip apparently had detached. That has to attach again for me to be able to lift my leg up and stuff."

The injury reportedly occurred during an intense choreographic schedule for Mysaa, a film she labeled as "the most aggressive film I've ever done for sure."

"My Body is a Human, Not a Machine"

Reflecting on the grueling nature of her non-stop shooting schedules, the 30-year-old actor admitted that the setback served as an unwanted reality check.
"This is my third injury back to back," she shared, describing all three as completely random freak accidents. "I should definitely learn to treat my body like a human body and not some machine."

Seeing the silver lining in her mandatory downtime, Rashmika remarked that she views the recovery phase as a higher power forcing her to pause:
"I feel like this is God saying, 'You'll never take a break if it's left to you, so here, let me do it for you.'"

Puzzles, Desserts, and Recovery

While doctor-mandated rest has kept her away from her regular intense gym routines and running sessions, Rashmika revealed how she is keeping herself occupied during this "forced holiday."

Alongside pictures of cookies, flower bouquets, and her pet dogs, she shared that she has developed a newfound love for jigsaw puzzles—and joked about her diet during recovery: "If I can't workout, then what do I do? I eat. And I become a dessert monster."

Impact on Upcoming Projects

Medical professionals have advised Rashmika to undergo six weeks of complete rest, followed by structured physical rehabilitation to restore full leg mobility.

This temporary hiatus has paused production schedules for both Mysaa and her pan-India film Ranabaali. Her injury comes amid a growing debate around physical safety and intense action/dance demands on film sets across Indian cinema.
