In the second half, Rodrygo slotted in after a cut-back from Valverde to hand the hosts the three points, as they recorded their fourth victory on the bounce to move clear at the top of the league standings.
Rodrygo’s first goal of the season was enough to maintain Real Madrid’s perfect record, as they held on for a 2-1 victory over Real Betis on Saturday.

The deciding moment came in the 65th minute when just a minute after coming on, Federico Valverde burst into the box and found Rodrygo.
The Brazilian made no mistake from near the penalty spot, firing home his first of the season to the delight of Real Madrid fans.The league leaders overcame Betis to increase their lead at the top of the La Liga table.
After the match Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said,”We have started the season well. Toda’s match was difficult, we had trouble getting the ball, because Real Betis is a tough rival. Later on we controlled the ball well and were more vertical, and we deserved to win.”
