by Kolkata Today

Sougata Roy takes a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi from a press conference at Trinamool Bhavan. Sougata Roy dismissed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claim of non cooperation between state government and centre. Prime minister claimed that PM Kisan Nidhi is helpful for farmers but Bengal farmers are deprived.

Reacting on Prime Minister’s comment, Sougata Roy said,” Farmers income in West Bengal has increased. Our state government give full premium of farmers. West Bengal produce huge number of rice and paddy. We requested food corporation to buy 6 lac metric ton, but they bough only 76 thousands metric ton. Those who had produced less rice, FCI has bought more from them”.

Sougata Roy added,” Till now no Bengal farmers had received farm insurance. Modi spoke about Covid warriors. But why it was delayed to announce the lockdown? Due to late announcement, the coronavirus spread. Migrants faces problem as there was no gap in between the announcement and lockdown. When everyone will get Covid19 vaccine, it’s not revealed yet by prime minister”.
