Rumours of Sania Mirza’s split from Shoaib Malik have been doing the round since 2022 and the couple were rarely seen together over the past months. Amid unconfirmed news about the two, the veteran Pakistani cricketer (married to the Indian ex-badminton player) has now tied the knot with Pakistani actress Sana Javed, taking everyone by surprise. Both Malik and Javed have shared photos of the wedding on their Instagram handles under the caption “And We created you in pairs.” It is the third marriage for Shoaib Malik. Sana Javed was earlier married to singer Umair Jaswal. She faced difficulties after her marriage to him in 2020 leading to separation.
Earlier, 41-year-old Malik had come out in support of Javed when the Pyaare Afzal actress was slammed for alleged rude behaviour towards junior cast and crew members on the set. “I have known Sana Javed for quite some time now, and have had the opportunity to work with her multiple times. From my personal experience, I can only say that she has always been kind and courteous towards me and the people around us,” Malik had tweeted back in March 2022.
Rumours of Malik dating Javed had been doing the rounds for a while, before the ex-Pakistan captain fuelled speculations further with his wish for the actress on her birthday last year: “Happy Birthday Buddy,” with a picture of the two.
Malik’s wedding news with photographs was a big surprise on either side. He and Sania Mirza two were married in Hyderabad more than a decade ago in 2010 in a traditional Muslim ceremony. Later, they had a Walima ceremony in Sialkot, Pakistan. Their son, Izhaan, was born in 2018.
