Sitharaman Meets Swiss President Guy Parmelin to Boost Investment Ties
Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman met Swiss President Guy Parmelin in New Delhi to discuss issues of mutual interest between India and Switzerland.
Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. @nsitharaman called on H.E. Mr. @ParmelinG, Swiss President, in New Delhi, today. They held discussions on issues of common interest to both India and Switzerland, including taking forward negotiations on the Bilateral Investment Treaty which is mutually beneficial to both nations with a view to enhance investment flows and deepening economic engagement.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed ways to deepen bilateral economic engagement, with a particular focus on taking forward negotiations on the Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT).
The proposed investment treaty is aimed at creating a mutually beneficial framework for investors from both countries and strengthening confidence in bilateral investments.
The discussions also focused on enhancing investment flows between India and Switzerland and further strengthening economic cooperation.
The meeting comes amid growing engagement between the two countries across trade, investment, science, technology and research. Both sides are looking to build on existing cooperation and create new opportunities for deeper economic partnerships.
