Telangana Assembly Election Results 2023
Telangana Assembly elections conducted today saw an impressive voter turnout of 63.94% till 5 pm as
per reports. Across the state, voters queued up from the early hours of the morning to exercise their
franchise. The fate of approximately 2500 candidates for 119 seats across Assembly segments would be
decided by today’s voting. Contestants whose fates now lie in ballot boxes include Chief Minister K.
Chandrashekhar Rao, his Minister-son K.T. Rama Rao. Political heavyweights also include Congress
State President A. Revanth Reddy, and BJP Lok Sabha members Bandi Sanjay Kumar and D. Arvind.
The ruling BRS, which is aiming for a comeback, has fielded its candidates in all 119 seats. As per a seat-
sharing agreement, the BJP and actor Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party are contesting in 111 and eight
seats respectively, The Congress is fighting from 118 seats and has given one seat to its ally, CPI.
Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM has fielded its candidates from nine seats.
Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj informed the media that polling was largely peaceful across the state,
barring a couple of skirmishes.
