Trump Claims Breakthrough in Iran Negotiations, Says “They Want a Deal”

US President Donald Trump has asserted that active negotiations are currently underway between the United States and Iran, indicating a potential breakthrough on the contentious nuclear issue. Speaking amid escalating geopolitical tensions, Trump stated that multiple senior US officials are engaged in the discussions, including Marco Rubio and JD Vance. Highlighting what he described as positive momentum, Trump said: “We are in negotiations right now… I can tell you the other side would like to make a deal.” He further claimed that Iran has indicated a willingness to step back from nuclear ambitions: “They have agreed they will not have a nuclear weapon.” However, there has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities regarding such an agreement at the time of reporting. In a striking statement reflecting US military and strategic confidence, Trump added: “We are roaming free over Tehran, we can do whatever we want…” The remark is likely to draw international attention, given its implications for regional security and sovereignty concerns involving Tehran. The developments come at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East, with ongoing concerns around nuclear proliferation and regional stability. Any potential agreement between Washington and Tehran would have significant implications for global security and diplomacy. While Trump’s remarks suggest progress, analysts caution that formal agreements require verification and multilateral engagement, particularly given the history of stalled negotiations between the two nations.
