Trump Says US Intensifies Strikes on Iran

US President Donald Trump has said the United States is carrying out intensified military strikes against Iran while reimposing what he described as a blockade aimed at restricting Iranian trade through the Strait of Hormuz.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said the US military was using "tremendous amounts of ammunition" and was targeting Iran's offensive military capabilities.
"We're hitting them very heavy tonight... We're knocking out all of their offensive capability," Trump said.

The US President also claimed that American forces were in control of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most strategically important maritime routes for global energy supplies.

According to Trump, the blockade is directed solely at Iran and is not intended to disrupt international commercial shipping.

"It's a blockade, not for anybody but Iran. Anybody doing business with Iran can't go through. Everyone else will be able to go through," he said.

Trump argued that the blockade could prove even more effective than direct military action, adding that combining military strikes with economic pressure would have a greater impact.

"The blockade is probably more effective even than hitting them. But I think the combination is a thing that really does," Trump added.

The remarks come amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, raising concerns over regional stability and the security of international shipping in the Gulf. Independent verification of all operational claims made by President Trump was not immediately available.
