Trump Says US Controls Strait of Hormuz as Pressure Mounts on Iran
US President Donald Trump has intensified pressure on Iran, saying the United States has “total control” around the strategically important Strait of Hormuz as Washington waits for Tehran to decide its next move.
Trump painted a bleak picture of Iran’s economic situation, claiming the country has “no money,” is struggling to pay its soldiers and police, and is facing inflation of 350%.
According to Trump, Iran would like to reach an agreement with the United States but has yet to accept what he described as the “right deal.”
“They would love to make a deal, but they're not ready to make the right deal in my opinion,” Trump said.
His remarks signal that Washington is prepared to maintain pressure on Tehran rather than immediately pursue a compromise. The Strait of Hormuz remains a crucial strategic waterway for global energy markets, making developments around the region closely watched internationally.
