UN Report On World Population: The population of the world reached 8 billion on Tuesday (November 15). One billion people were added in the last 12 years. India is on the verge of leaving China behind in this matter.

The population of the world reached its record level on 15 November i.e. Tuesday. According to UN report
The world population has crossed eight billion. Although this population will not double now.
The total population is expected to be 850 crores by 2030, 970 crores by 2050 and 1040 crores by 2100. The UN report has also claimed about the average age.

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) tweeted, ‘8 billion expectations. 8 billion dreams. 8 billion possibilities. Our planet is now home to 8 billion people. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that unless we bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, the world is full of tension and mistrust, crisis and conflict. Setting ourselves up for an 8 billion strong world.

India will overtake China by 2023

India is projected to overtake China as the world’s most populous country in 2023. The population prospects report states that India’s population in 2022 is 1.412 billion, compared to China’s 1.426 billion. India’s population is projected to be 1.668 billion in 2050, far ahead of China’s 1.317 billion people by the middle of the century.

Population will be 10 billion around 2058

The United Nations has called the world population reaching 8 billion a milestone. Given that the human population was less than 1 billion in the 1800 century and took more than 100 years to grow from 1 to 2 billion. In comparison, the growth of the world’s population in the last century has been very rapid and the pace of development has been slow. Nevertheless, according to United Nations projections, the global population is expected to exceed 9 billion around 2037 and 10 billion around 2058.

Along with this, the UN report has claimed about the average age of human beings. At present, the average age has been 72.8 years, which has increased by 9 years till 2019 as compared to 1990. Along with this, it has also been estimated that by 2050, the average age of a human being will reach 77.2 years.
