Discomfort for state BJP leaders as Urmila Murmu protest inclusion of criminals in the party. Urmila Murmu’s husband Ajit Murmu was murdered during BJP’s nomination filing process in 2018 Panchayat elections. According to Urmila Murmu, her husband Ajit Murmu was killed by the TMC leader Bidyut Das and Jayanta Mitra. Though now they have changed their party and joined Bhartiya Janta party through BJP leader Mukul Roy. On Thursday, Urmila Murmu along with her family and BJP workers sat on protest at Hastings Bhartiya Janta party office.
Urmila Murmu appealed to expell Bidyut Das and Jayanta Mitra from the party. She said,” Jayanta Mitra and Bidyut Das killed my husband. He was going to file nomination for the 2018 panchayat election. He was killed in front of everyone right is the heart of the city. I want those criminal to be thrown out from the party. Or else we will apply for death request”.
