Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has expressed gratitude to Emmanuel Macron for convening the High-Level Meeting on the Global Health Architecture and the One Health Summit. In a message shared on social media, Dr. Tedros lauded Macron’s leadership in advancing global initiatives such as “Health For All” and “Stand With Science,” underscoring the importance of international collaboration in strengthening healthcare systems worldwide. He highlighted discussions around leveraging the capabilities of the WHO Academy in Lyon by deepening partnerships with WHO collaborating centres. The talks also focused on progress in the Pathogen Access and Benefit Sharing (PABS) annex negotiations, a crucial component for the ratification of the WHO Pandemic Agreement. The developments come at a time when global health governance remains a top priority, with nations seeking stronger frameworks to respond effectively to future pandemics and health emergencies. The summit reinforces the commitment of global leaders and institutions to build a more resilient and equitable health architecture through cooperation, innovation, and science-driven policymaking.
