Zverev storms into French Open semis for 5th time in 6 years
Second seed Alexander Zverev marched into the French Open semi-finals with a domineering 7-6(3), 6-1, 6-3 victory over teenager Rafael Jodar on Tuesday.
The German recovered from a 5-2 deficit against his Spanish teenager in the opening set to take control of the match to enter the Roland Garros last four for the fifth time in six years.
The 29-year-ols will meet the winner of the quarter-final between Jakub Mensik and Joao Fonseca in the semis in his quest of a maiden Grand Slam title.
In the absence of the injured Carlos Alcaraz and with bit top ranked Jannik sinner and 24-time Grand Slam champion eliminated, Zverev has a golden chance ti end his Grand Slum duck and he insisted in already looking beyond the last four.
"Not really, I don't really care. I want to keep going, be in the tournament and win the matches ahead of me, that's my goal," he said after his win.
