Adhir Ranjan Calls for Equal Funding for All Religious Institutions in India
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has questioned the government's approach towards religious funding, asking why financial support is extended only to temples when Gurdwaras and mosques also exist.
Emphasising India's secular and inclusive character, Chowdhury said that if public resources are allocated for religious institutions, people of all faiths should be treated equally.
Speaking on the occasion of Kali Puja and Diwali, he urged the government not to create divisions between communities or foster an atmosphere of religious hatred.
"Our country does not belong to just one religion," Chowdhury said, calling for an inclusive approach that respects all faiths and communities.
He further appealed to the government to move forward by embracing everyone and strengthening the spirit of religious harmony and unity.
