Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal Win Historic Skeet Bronze

Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal created history for India at the Asian Games 2026, winning a bronze medal in the skeet mixed team event at Aichi-Nagoya on Thursday. Their podium finish is India's first-ever Asian Games medal in the skeet mixed team event, adding another landmark achievement to the country's shooting campaign.

The Indian pair produced a determined performance in a tense final, finishing with 44 hits. They were level with South Korea on 44, but South Korea progressed to the gold-medal round on the basis of the higher qualification score. China eventually won gold, while South Korea took silver.

Historic Medal for Indian Skeet

The bronze medal completed a remarkable three-medal run for Indian skeet shooters at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026.

India had already won two skeet team bronze medals on Wednesday. Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Bhavtegh Singh Gill and Mairaj Ahmad Khan secured the men's team bronze, while Parinaaz Dhaliwal, Raiza Dhillon and Maheshwari Chauhan claimed bronze in the women's team event.

With the mixed team bronze on Thursday, Indian skeet shooters have now reached the podium in the men's team, women's team and mixed team events at these Asian Games.

For Naruka and Dhaliwal, the achievement was particularly significant as both shooters collected their second medal of the 2026 Asian Games.

Anantjeet and Parinaaz Fight Through a Tense Final

The Indian duo entered the four-team final after finishing fourth in qualification with 138 hits from 150 targets.

Naruka recorded 70 hits from 75 targets, while Dhaliwal contributed 68. Qatar topped qualification with 145, followed by South Korea with 143 and China with 140.

However, the qualification standings were reset for the final, meaning all four teams had to start again. The final was conducted through a series of elimination rounds, making every missed target increasingly important.
