Bellingham Defends Three Lions After Tuchel Critique

England midfielder Jude Bellingham has responded to head coach Thomas Tuchel's criticism of the team's performance in the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final against Norway, insisting the quality of the opposition should not be underestimated.

Following England's dramatic 2-1 extra-time victory, Tuchel admitted his side had "got lucky" and needed to improve despite securing a place in the semi-finals.
Bellingham, however, defended England's display and highlighted the strength of Norway's squad, which features several top European stars.

"Maybe he doesn't know what it means to face a team with Haaland, Ødegaard, Nusa, Sørloth…" Bellingham said, suggesting Norway deserved greater respect for the challenge they posed.
