The result, combined with Spain's victory over Uruguay, ensured Cape Verde finished second in the group behind the European champions. Saudi Arabia ended their campaign at the bottom of the standings with two points.

Cape Verde came closest to breaking the deadlock in the opening half when Jamiro Monteiro surged past the Saudi defence, but goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais produced an excellent save.
The Blue Sharks continued to press after the break. Monteiro, Kevin Pina and Laros Duarte all threatened, while Al-Owais made another crucial stop to deny Duarte from close range. Nuno da Costa also missed a late golden opportunity after Garry Rodrigues delivered a perfect cut-back.
Despite the missed chances, Cape Verde held firm to complete an unforgettable group-stage campaign, having also drawn with Spain and Uruguay earlier in the tournament.
Head coach Bubista's side will now face reigning world champions Argentina in the Round of 32 on 3 July in Miami, as their remarkable FIFA World Cup journey continues.
