In a post on social media, Luxon said India is one of the world's largest and fastest-growing economies and an increasingly important partner for New Zealand's economic future.
He highlighted the recently signed New Zealand–India Free Trade Agreement in April, saying the deal would create more jobs, boost exports and strengthen economic growth for New Zealand.
PM Luxon added that Modi's visit would help elevate bilateral relations to the next level, with both countries expected to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, education, innovation and people-to-people ties.
