FC Barcelona come from 1-0 down to beat third-tier side Linares in the Copa del Rey.
FC Barcelona have started their defence of the Copa del Rey with a win at the home of Primera Division RFEF side Linares Deportivo but it took a second half comeback to do it. The home side had taken a shock lead after 19 minutes and were coping extremely well in front of their vociferous home fans.

The Catalans were finally able to make their superiority show in the final half hour, but this was by no means an easy victory against a side seven places below the Barca reserves in their league.Barca are one step closer to returning to Andalusia for the final in Seville.
Dani Alves was back in an official game for FC Barcelona in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey game with Linares, a whole 2,054 days after he last played for the team in the final of the same competition against Sevilla on 22 May 2016.
With 391 appearances, the Brazilian was the foreigner with the second most games for FC Barcelona, topped only by Leo Messi (771) and well clear of third-placed Javier Mascherano (334). He can now start adding to that already impressive tally!
At 38 years and 244 days, it also means that Alves becomes the oldest player to appear for Barca this century, older than José Manuel Pinto, the goalkeeper who on 17 May 2014 was 38 years and 190 days old when he played his last game for the team.

Although Barca started sprightly, with fine early chances for Ronald Araújo and Ilias Akhomach, Linares took a surprise lead through Hugo Diaz. Fran Carnicer sent in a cross from the right and Diaz got away from Oscar Mingueza to get his head on the end of it and guide the ball beyond the reach of Neto.
The Frenchman had scored Barca first goal of last season’s cup campaign to get Barça out of a tight spot against Cornellà, and it was the same man who finally ended Barca’s desperate quest to get back into this game.
It had been constant pressing to no avail before he deftly curled the ball into the net that was Barca back level.And that was also Dembélé’s first goal of the season.

Linares looked to have struck right back when they had a goal disallowed, and instead it was Barça who were soon leading. Jutglà looked ready to set up a chance for a team-mate but then opted to make a run on goal and that was 2-1 Barca and Jutglà’s goal assured FC Barcelona into the last sixteen of the cup.
