Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri visited Doha, Qatar from April 9–10, 2026, engaging in high-level discussions aimed at strengthening strategic ties between India and Qatar.

During the visit, both sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations, including trade, investment, energy cooperation, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people connections. The discussions highlighted the growing importance of India-Qatar relations in ensuring regional and global stability.
The Ministers emphasized the need to further deepen engagement through sustained high-level interactions and collaborative initiatives across sectors. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties in line with shared economic and strategic interests.
A key focus of the talks was global energy security. Both leaders welcomed the two-week ceasefire agreement reached on April 8, expressing hope for lasting peace and stability in the region. They stressed that uninterrupted global energy supplies are critical for maintaining economic balance and supply chains worldwide.
Highlighting current geopolitical challenges, the Ministers underlined the importance of ensuring unimpeded freedom of navigation and smooth global trade flows. They called for restoring normalcy in international commerce to safeguard global supply chains and energy distribution networks.
The visit reflects India’s proactive diplomatic engagement in the Gulf region and its commitment to strengthening partnerships that are vital for energy security and economic growth.
