India Women Deliver Dominant 114-Run Win Over Bangladesh in Asian Games Semi-Final

India Women’s Cricket Team celebrates after defeating Bangladesh in the Asian Games 2026 semi-final.

The India Women’s Cricket Team stormed into the gold medal match of the 2026 Asian Games with a commanding 114-run victory over Bangladesh in the semi-final. India posted 195/4 in 20 overs, led by a spectacular century from Shafali Verma, who smashed 100 off just 49 balls with nine sixes and three fours. Her century made her the first woman to score a hundred in Asian Games cricket. Smriti Mandhana added a rapid 37 off 18 balls, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 40 off 33 deliveries.

Bangladesh struggled throughout the chase and were bowled out for 81 in 15.4 overs. Deepti Sharma and Nandani Sharma claimed three wickets apiece as India’s bowling attack completed a comprehensive victory. India will now face Sri Lanka in the gold medal match, while Bangladesh will meet Pakistan in the bronze medal playoff.
