Bihar Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh Shares Vision to Take Bihar’s Sporting Talent Global
Football Philosopher and sports strategist Kaushik Moulik met Smt. Shreyasi Singh, Bihar’s Minister for Industries and Sports, and discussed opportunities to strengthen the state’s sporting ecosystem and create international pathways for young athletes.
During the meeting, Moulik, on behalf of the German Football Association (DFB), presented Germany’s National Team jersey to Shreyasi Singh. The discussion explored Bihar’s sporting potential, with particular focus on talent identification, scientific training, world-class infrastructure, coaching, sports technology and international exposure.
Shreyasi Singh brings significant experience as a former champion shooter, having won a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Her sporting background, alongside her current responsibilities in Bihar’s Industries and Sports portfolios, provided an important perspective on the aspirations and challenges facing young athletes.
Focus on Talent Development and International Cooperation
Mr Moulik and Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh discussed developing a structured roadmap for Bihar’s sporting growth, with a focus on building stronger pathways for young talent—from grassroots discovery to national and international competition. The conversation also explored opportunities to leverage international sporting institutions, expertise and best practices to strengthen Bihar’s sporting ecosystem and provide its athletes with greater exposure to global standards.
Mr Moulik said he remains committed to contributing to Bihar’s sporting journey by helping connect the state with international sporting institutions, strengthening grassroots talent identification and exploring meaningful cooperation in football and other sports.
The discussions also aligned with the broader ambition of strengthening India’s sporting ecosystem and supporting the vision of making India a global sporting power, including the country’s aspirations related to the 2036 Olympic Games.
Moulik emphasised that Bihar possesses significant sporting talent and that the right combination of opportunity, infrastructure, scientific support, technology and sustained development can help young athletes from the state compete successfully on the national and global stage.
