India Women’s Hockey Team Beat Indonesia 17-1 at Asian Games 2026

India Women’s Hockey Team continued their impressive run at the Asian Games 2026 with a commanding 17-1 victory over Indonesia in their second Pool B match on Monday, September 21. The result marked India’s second consecutive win in the women’s hockey competition after the team began its campaign with a 19-0 victory over Uzbekistan.

The India Women’s Hockey Team once again produced an attacking masterclass, scoring 17 goals while conceding just one. The Indian side maintained pressure throughout the match and repeatedly found gaps in the Indonesian defence.

India opened the scoring in the eighth minute when Deepika Sehrawat converted a penalty corner with a powerful drag-flick. Sunelita Toppo doubled the advantage in the 11th minute before Lalremsiami and Rutuja Dadaso Pisal added further goals.

By the end of the opening quarter, India had already established a 4-0 lead.

The second quarter continued in much the same fashion. Lalremsiami scored again, followed by another goal from Rutuja. Sakshi Rana then joined the scoring before Deepika converted another penalty corner. Sunelita Toppo added her second goal shortly before half-time.

India went into the interval with a commanding 9-0 lead.

Deepika, Rutuja and Navneet Complete Hat-Tricks

One of the biggest highlights of the match was the performance of India's attacking trio.

Deepika Sehrawat, Rutuja Dadaso Pisal and Navneet Kaur each scored a hat-trick against Indonesia.

Deepika scored in the 8th, 28th and 40th minutes, with all three goals coming from penalty corners.

Rutuja found the net in the 15th, 20th and 38th minutes, while Navneet completed her hat-trick with goals in the 35th, 56th and 57th minutes.

Lalremsiami, Sunelita Toppo and Sakshi Rana also made significant contributions, scoring two goals each. Captain Salima Tete and Ishika Chaudhary added one goal apiece.

Indonesia managed to score once through Innes Aditiya in the 32nd minute, but India quickly regained control and continued to extend their advantage.
