The players’ auction for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held in Kochi on December 23. 991 players have given their names for the auction. Among them, India has the maximum number of 714 cricketers. Apart from India, players from 14 other countries have also registered. Now the franchises will shortlist players for the auction from this list.

Statement of BCCI Secretary Jai Shah
In a release issued by the Cricket Board of India (BCCI), secretary Jai Shah said, “If each franchise includes a maximum of 25 players in their team, then a total of 87 players will be auctioned in this auction.” There can be 30 overseas players. The list of players includes 185 capped (having represented the national team), 786 uncapped and 20 players from associate countries. There are 604 uncapped Indian players in this list, out of which 91 have been a part of IPL before.
