He said, "The programme celebrated on August 14 as Kanyashree Day will continue. However, it will now be known as Kanyaratna. We will continue to do everything necessary for our students."

Sabuj Sathi Renamed Sarathi
Along with the renaming of the Kanyashree scheme, the government also announced that the Sabuj Sathi project will now be called Sarathi.

The scheme, which provides bicycles to school students to improve access to education, will continue to operate under its new name.

Officials clarified that only the name has been changed and that eligible students will continue to receive benefits under the programme.
