Rijiju: Youth's Future Matters More Than Politics

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday appealed to all political parties not to impose conditions that could derail the discussion on the NEET issue, stressing that Parliament must prioritise the future of students over political differences.

Speaking in the Rajya Sabha during the Monsoon Session, Rijiju said the government is ready for a meaningful discussion on NEET and urged the Opposition to participate without attaching preconditions.

"I appeal to the political parties not to put any conditions to derail the discussion. This is not the time to play politics but to take all necessary steps for the future of the youth of the country," Rijiju said.

The minister reiterated that the NDA government is committed to addressing concerns related to the NEET examination and paper leak issue through constructive parliamentary debate. He maintained that the discussion should remain focused on protecting the interests of students and strengthening the examination system rather than becoming a political confrontation.

The NEET paper leak controversy continues to dominate proceedings in the ongoing Monsoon Session, with both the government and the Opposition seeking a discussion on the matter while differing over the format and scope of the debate.
