Mamata Banerjee Launches Sharp Attack on Centre, Vows Legal Fight Against ‘State Terrorism’

Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee issued a strong message to the people and workers of the Trinamool Congress, criticizing alleged acts of vandalism, political retaliation, and what she termed as “state terrorism.”

Referring to the rehabilitation efforts linked to the Kalyani Express Setu project, Banerjee said that when the bridge project was undertaken, 43 affected families were provided with identical homes for rehabilitation. She alleged that attempts are now being made to erase those efforts and accused opponents of engaging in “looting and vandalism.”

In a sharp political remark aimed at the ruling establishment at the Centre, she stated that power in Delhi is not permanent and warned that political actions would eventually face accountability.

Mamata Banerjee also appealed to the judiciary, calling judges “the true protectors of the law,” while asserting that she would continue her legal battle against what she described as “state terrorism.”

She further emphasized her faith in democratic institutions, stating that the battle ahead would determine “which is more powerful — the Constitution or the nozzle of a gun.”

The remarks are likely to intensify the ongoing political debate in West Bengal and trigger fresh reactions from both state and national political circles.
