PM Modi and President Macron Celebrate India-France Cultural Ties Through Art Exhibition in Nice

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron viewed a unique collection of artworks by French artists Thibault De La Lance and Théophile de Bascher during their visit to Nice, highlighting the growing cultural partnership between India and France.

The artworks were created following a 10-day artist residency in the historic city of Jaipur, where the two artists immersed themselves in India's rich artistic traditions, architecture, colors, and cultural heritage.

Visiting India for the first time, the painter and sculptor drew inspiration from Indian aesthetics and local culture, blending these influences with contemporary French artistic expression. Their creations reflect a vibrant cultural dialogue between the two nations and showcase the creative possibilities that emerge through international collaboration.

The exhibition served as a symbol of the deepening people-to-people connections between India and France, complementing the strong strategic partnership shared by the two countries. By integrating elements of Indian culture into their work, the artists highlighted the enduring power of art as a bridge between societies and traditions.

The viewing of the artworks by Prime Minister Modi and President Macron underscored the importance both leaders place on cultural diplomacy and artistic exchanges as key pillars of the India-France relationship.
