Manipur Women Football Stars Meet CM Khemchand Singh

Nine members of the Indian Women's Football Team from Manipur met Chief Minister Khemchand Singh to share their recent achievements and discuss the future development of women's football in the state.

The footballers, who were part of India's title-winning squad at the 6th SAFF Women's Championship held in Goa, highlighted the remarkable contribution of Manipuri players to Indian football at both national and international levels.

During the meeting, the players also urged the state government to further strengthen women's football by enhancing infrastructure, training facilities, and grassroots development programs.

Several of the players also represented India at the AFC Women's Asian Cup in Australia, where the Indian women's team qualified for the continental tournament for the first time in 23 years.

Chief Minister Khemchand Singh congratulated the players on their achievements and acknowledged Manipur's long-standing contribution to Indian football. The interaction underscored the state's commitment to nurturing women's football and inspiring the next generation of talented players.
