Mirra Andreeva Reveals Roger Federer Inspiration Behind Her Roland Garros Triumph

title-winning performance, teenage tennis sensation Mirra Andreeva opened up about the mental transformation that helped fuel her success on the biggest stage.

Speaking after her final victory over Chwalinska, Andreeva revealed that the key to her breakthrough wasn't a dramatic tactical overhaul but a conscious decision to embrace a stronger mindset.

"I wouldn't say there was a big reset or something that I just decided to switch completely or to change the approach for matches," Andreeva explained. "My psychologist says you can always choose how you're gonna be on court and who you're gonna be as a person as well, so I just decided to choose to be a fighter."

The young star highlighted the importance of mental resilience throughout the tournament, emphasizing her commitment to competing with determination regardless of the situation.

Andreeva also disclosed an unexpected source of inspiration — tennis legend Roger Federer. Watching Federer's matches at Roland Garros left a lasting impression on her approach to the game.

"I watched a lot of Roger's matches here," she said. "I felt like I really wanted to impersonate the way he behaves a little on the court. Obviously, no one is ever going to have the same aura as Roger Federer, but I wanted to try."

The Russian teenager explained that she admired Federer's composure, elegance, and positive body language, qualities she sought to emulate during her own matches.

"I really wanted to look good on the court, not be frustrated or unhappy with how I play," Andreeva added. "For the people, it's nice to watch how players try their best and fight and compete. That's what I wanted to do, and that's what I was focusing on."

Her comments provide a fascinating glimpse into the mindset behind one of tennis' brightest rising stars. By combining mental strength, competitive spirit, and lessons learned from one of the sport's greatest champions, Andreeva continues to establish herself as a major force in women's tennis.

With a Grand Slam title now added to her growing list of achievements, the future looks exceptionally bright for the young phenom, whose maturity and determination have already captured the attention of tennis fans worldwide.
