The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of the fans of this web series.
In fact, while hearing a petition, the Supreme Court has refused to accept the demand for a ban on ‘Mirzapur’. The court has refused to stay the series. A bench of Chief Justice Uday Umesh Lalit and Justice Bela M Trivedi gave this decision during the hearing on a petition filed by Sujit Kumar Singh, a resident of Mirzapur. Not only this, the court has asked the petitioner to file a better petition. Apart from this, the court also raised the question that how is it possible to pre-screen a web series.
Let us tell you that in the petition filed, it was asked about the series, film and other content to be released online or directly online, that ‘pre-screening’ should be done before their release. To which the court said, ‘How can there be a pre-screening committee for a web series? This is a special law, unless you say that OTT is also a part of this law. You have to say that the existing law should also apply to OTT. After this many questions will arise, because they are broadcast from other countries also.
The court ordered the petitioner to withdraw his complaint. He said, ‘The content coming on OTT is also broadcast from other countries, which is watched by all the viewers. After that everything is different. Your filed petition should be comprehensive, so you better file a petition. After this decision came to the fore, now the fans of ‘Mirzapur’ are very happy and eagerly waiting for the third part of this series.
