Naslen discusses Tamil debut and negative role in Suriya's Scene
Naslen Tamil debut discussions at a Kerala promotional interaction centred on his role alongside Suriya in Scene and the challenge of performing in an unfamiliar language. The Malayalam actor said the opportunity arrived while he was working on Lokah.
He had received other offers from Tamil cinema before choosing this project. Naslen said Scene interested him immediately, even though the part required him to play a negative character.
The Jithu Madhavan film is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 6, coinciding with Diwali. It features Suriya as DSP Inbaraj, with Nazriya Nazim and Naslen in important roles.
Language challenge on a new assignment
Naslen described sharing the screen with Suriya as an experience he had found difficult to believe was happening. He also praised his co-star's discipline and acting while discussing their work together.
The actor identified speaking Tamil as his main concern during the production. When someone at the interaction asked him to speak the language, he said he was not sufficiently familiar with it and preferred to speak Malayalam while in Kerala.
His response prompted laughter among those attending. During the same interaction, he also imitated a familiar style of Suriya's dialogue delivery for the audience.
The Naslen Tamil debut places him in a new film industry after his Malayalam performances attracted attention. His remarks explained both why the offer stood out among earlier approaches and the language difficulty he encountered while taking it on.
Suriya and Jyothika have produced Scene under 2D Entertainment and Zhagaram Studios. Sushin Shyam composed the music, while Vineeth Augustian handled the cinematography and Ajmal Sabu took responsibility for editing, bringing together the team behind the announced Diwali release.
