Nazriya Nazim explains Tamil cinema return with Suriya's Scene
Nazriya Nazim has explained why earlier opportunities to work with Suriya did not materialise as she prepares to return to Tamil cinema in Scene. Speaking at the film's Kerala pre-release event, she attributed those missed collaborations to scheduling issues and other confusion.
The actor was responding to Suriya's comment that she had declined three films with him. She described that remark as a joke and said the earlier projects had not fallen through because she deliberately refused to work with him.
Scene brings the two actors together on screen for the first time. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the film is scheduled to reach cinemas on November 6 for Diwali.
Waiting for the right role
Nazriya Nazim also discussed the long interval since her previous Tamil work. She said she had not found the combination of story and character she wanted over the past 12 years, explaining her absence from the industry during that period.
She expressed pleasure at joining Madhavan's film and described herself as the first heroine in one of his projects. She also said she had performed action in Scene.
Discussing the experience of making the film, she said the presence of fellow Malayalees made the work feel like a holiday. Her comments covered both the earlier scheduling difficulties and the reasons this project brought her back to Tamil cinema.
Scene is described as a mystery entertainer combining comedy with elements of madness. Suriya plays DSP Inbaraj, while Nazriya and Naslen feature in important roles.
John Vijay and Anand Raj are among the supporting cast. Vineeth Augustian handled cinematography, with Ajmal Sabu responsible for editing, as the film prepares for its announced theatrical release.
