Netherlands Reach Historic 100 World Cup Goals
The Netherlands became the eighth nation in history to score 100 FIFA World Cup goals.
They achieved the historic milestone was achieved during their resounding 5-1 victory over Sweden at the Houston Stadium in Group F.
They entered the match with 96 all-time tournament goals, striker Brian Brobbey secured the landmark 100th goal in the 17th minute of the first half.
Brazil (241), Germany (239), Argentina (155), France (139), Italy (128), Spain and England (both 108) are the team's that have reached the 100-goal mark before the Netherlands.
Brobbey lunged forward to redirect it past Swedish keeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt, etching his name into the history books.
The Netherlands remain the only nation in the 100-goal club to have never won the World Cup, having finished as tournament runners-up on three occasions (1974, 1978, and 2010).
