Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal held an insightful interaction with Japanese industry stakeholders and investors at a roundtable on ‘Capital Goods, Machinery and Automotive Industry’, convened by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC).

Goyal highlighted India’s ease of doing business environment and manufacturing-led growth, saying these factors present significant opportunities for Japanese investors to expand their presence across India’s manufacturing ecosystem.

He also underlined SMBC’s strategic position in connecting Japanese capital, technology and expertise with emerging opportunities in India’s growing industrial landscape.

The Union Minister invited SMBC and Japanese investors to leverage India’s growth story, explore new investment opportunities and strengthen economic engagement between India and Japan.

Goyal emphasised that deeper collaboration in capital goods, machinery and automotive manufacturing can help drive shared growth while further strengthening the India-Japan economic partnership.
