Piyush Goyal Meets Canadian PM Mark Carney, Pushes Early India-Canada CEPA Deal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal shared on social media that he called on Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and conveyed warm greetings on behalf of Narendra Modi.

During the meeting, Goyal fondly recalled Carney’s recent visit to India, noting that it has brought renewed momentum and greater confidence to the India–Canada partnership.

The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and exploring new opportunities across key sectors. Both sides expressed optimism about the early conclusion of the India–Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which is expected to open new pathways for economic growth, trade expansion, and stronger strategic ties between the two countries.

The proposed agreement is seen as a significant step toward enhancing business collaboration, boosting investments, and creating fresh opportunities for both economies.
