PM Modi Congratulates Sakshi Chaudhary on CWG 2026 Boxing Gold

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Indian boxer Sakshi Chaudhary on winning the Gold medal in the Women's 51kg Boxing event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

In a post shared on social media, the Prime Minister praised Sakshi's commanding display in the final and lauded her remarkable achievement on the international stage.

"A prestigious Gold for Sakshi in the Women’s 51 kg Boxing event! Congratulations to her on a commanding performance and a decisive victory. May she continue to scale greater heights!" – Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Sakshi secured the gold medal after a dominant 5-0 unanimous decision victory over England's Ruby White in the final. Displaying exceptional tactical discipline, sharp counter-punching, and composure, she controlled the contest from start to finish.

The triumph marked another significant milestone in Sakshi's career. A Hawaldar in the Indian Army and a two-time World Youth Champion, she had made the bold decision to move down from the 54kg category to compete in the 51kg division—a move that culminated in Commonwealth Games glory.

Sakshi's victory further strengthened India's impressive boxing campaign in Glasgow, adding another gold medal to the nation's tally and highlighting the growing success of Indian boxing on the global stage.
