Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Yashvir Singh after the young Indian athlete won a historic bronze medal in the men's javelin throw at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Sharing his message on social media, the Prime Minister praised Yashvir's determination and outstanding performance, describing his achievement as an inspiration for aspiring athletes across the country.

Yashvir Singh delivered the performance of his career by registering a personal best throw of 85.41 metres on his sixth and final attempt, clinching the bronze medal in dramatic fashion. His remarkable effort helped India secure a memorable double podium in the event, with Neeraj Chopra claiming the silver medal with a season-best throw of 85.83 metres.
