PM Modi Hails Neeraj Chopra's CWG 2026 Silver Medal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated India's star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra after he won the silver medal in the men's javelin throw at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Sharing his message on social media, the Prime Minister praised Neeraj's consistency and fighting spirit, saying:

"An outstanding Silver for Neeraj Chopra in the Men's Javelin event at Glasgow! He has once again demonstrated remarkable consistency, composure and spirit. His successes make every Indian proud. My best wishes to him for the endeavours ahead. #CWG2026"

Neeraj Chopra secured the silver medal with a season-best throw of 85.83 metres, adding a second Commonwealth Games medal to his illustrious career after winning gold at the Gold Coast 2018 Games.

His latest achievement also contributed to India's historic double-podium finish in the men's javelin throw, with Yash Vir Singh clinching the bronze medal through a personal-best effort.

The Prime Minister's congratulatory message reflects the nation's pride in Neeraj's continued excellence and his enduring contribution to Indian athletics on the global stage.
