Addressing a public gathering in Haryana, the Prime Minister said he had held extensive discussions with the governments of Australia and New Zealand to deepen cooperation in the sports sector.
"We are working on numerous initiatives with both countries in areas such as the sports industry, player training and several other fields, which will greatly benefit the players of the country and Haryana," PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister said the newly formulated National Sports Policy aims to build a stronger sporting ecosystem by improving athlete development, training facilities and global collaboration.
Highlighting the government's flagship programmes, he said the Khelo India campaign and the TOPS Scheme have significantly enhanced opportunities and support for athletes across the country.
PM Modi also praised the Haryana government for its efforts to promote sports, stating that the BJP-led state government has provided strong encouragement to athletes through improved infrastructure, incentives and policy support.
He said the Centre and the state government are working together to create an environment where Indian athletes can compete successfully on the global stage while inspiring the next generation of sporting talent.
