PM Modi: India's Hydrogen Train Is World's Most Powerful

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India's first hydrogen-powered train is setting new global benchmarks, describing it as the world's most powerful and longest hydrogen train.

Speaking after the flag-off of the hydrogen train operating between Jind and Sonipat in Haryana, the Prime Minister said only a handful of countries currently possess hydrogen train technology, making India's achievement a matter of national pride.

"The hydrogen train has just come into existence in the world. Only a few countries currently have the capability to operate hydrogen trains. Every Indian will feel proud to know that the hydrogen train running from Jind to Sonipat is the world's most powerful hydrogen train," PM Modi said.

He highlighted that the train generates 3,200 horsepower, making it the most powerful hydrogen-powered train globally. He also noted that India's hydrogen train is the longest in the world, underscoring the country's rapid progress in advanced railway technology.

The Prime Minister said the milestone reflects India's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and self-reliance while strengthening the Indian Railways' transition towards clean and environmentally friendly transportation. The project is expected to accelerate India's ambitions in green mobility and reinforce its position among global leaders in next-generation railway technology.
