PM Narendra Modi Meets Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez in New Delhi, Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, reaffirming the commitment of both nations to deepen cooperation across key sectors.

Acting President Rodríguez, who arrived in India on June 3 for a five-day official visit, is leading a high-level delegation comprising senior ministers from foreign affairs, economy and finance, science and technology, communication and information, and transportation. The visit is aimed at strengthening the longstanding partnership between India and Venezuela.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi and President Rodríguez discussed the full spectrum of bilateral relations, including energy security, trade and investment, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, transportation, renewable energy, and technological collaboration. Both leaders emphasized expanding cooperation and exploring new opportunities for mutual growth and development.
The visit comes amid growing economic engagement between the two countries, particularly in the energy sector, with India increasing its imports of Venezuelan crude oil. Officials from both sides expressed confidence that the high-level engagement would further strengthen strategic ties and enhance cooperation in areas of shared interest.
President Rodríguez’s meeting with Prime Minister Modi follows earlier discussions between the two leaders this year, during which they agreed to elevate India-Venezuela relations to new heights and reinforce collaboration across multiple sectors.
