Telangana and Germany’s Thuringia Sign Strategic Partnership on Technology, Skills, Startups and Life Sciences

Telangana has taken a significant step toward strengthening international cooperation by signing a strategic partnership agreement with the German state of Thuringia. The collaboration will focus on technology, skill development, startups, life sciences, and advanced industrial cooperation.

The agreement was formalized during the visit of Thuringia's Minister-President Mario Voigt, who met Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad. Voigt praised Telangana’s remarkable economic growth and described the state as one of India’s leading centres of innovation, technology, and progress.

During the discussions, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of creating a future-ready workforce capable of meeting the demands of the artificial intelligence era. He highlighted Telangana’s vision of training skilled professionals for global markets, including Germany, Japan, and South Korea.

The Chief Minister also sought Thuringia’s support in enhancing skill development programmes across universities and technical institutions in Telangana. Additionally, he requested cooperation in establishing a dedicated German language training centre in Hyderabad to prepare students and professionals for international employment opportunities.

Minister-President Mario Voigt welcomed the proposal and assured Telangana of Thuringia’s support in designing customized skill development programmes. He stated that Thuringia’s industries and universities would work closely with educational institutions in Telangana to strengthen workforce readiness and technological collaboration.

Telangana Minister D. Sridhar Babu noted that Hyderabad has already emerged as a major destination for global semiconductor companies. He added that the state is steadily progressing toward semiconductor manufacturing, further enhancing its position as a key technology and innovation hub in India.

The partnership is expected to deepen economic and educational ties between Telangana and Germany while opening new opportunities in advanced technology, research, startup ecosystems, and global talent development.
