PM Narendra Modi Pays Tribute to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on His Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid heartfelt tributes to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary, remembering him as a towering figure in India’s freedom movement and a visionary architect of social justice. In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister described Dr. Lohia as a “multifaceted personality” who played a pivotal role in mobilising masses against colonial rule. He emphasised that Lohia’s contributions did not end with Independence but continued to shape India’s socio-political landscape in the decades that followed. Highlighting his intellectual legacy, the Prime Minister noted that Dr. Lohia was an outstanding thinker and one of the foremost voices advocating for social justice in India. His ideas on uplifting the poor and marginalised sections of society remain deeply relevant even today. The Prime Minister also underlined Dr. Lohia’s progressive vision on gender equality and participatory governance, calling them “equally noteworthy” and essential to building an inclusive and democratic society. Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, a prominent socialist leader and freedom fighter, is widely remembered for his relentless commitment to equality, decentralisation, and grassroots empowerment. His enduring legacy continues to inspire generations across political and social spheres in India.
