Priyanka Gandhi Slams Modi Over “₹9 Lakh Crore” US Trade Deal; Unveils UDF’s 5 Guarantees for Keralam

Stepping up the heat in the Keralam assembly election campaign, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that his recent trade agreements with the United States were driven by “personal fear” rather than national interest.

Addressing a massive UDF rally in Thiruvambady, the Wayanad MP claimed that the Prime Minister had compromised the livelihoods of Indian farmers to protect himself and his billionaire associates from legal scrutiny in the United States.

”Farmers Sold Out to Protect One Individual”

Priyanka Gandhi alleged that the Prime Minister’s recent diplomatic maneuvers were a response to the ongoing legal challenges involving the Adani Group and the surfacing of his name in the “Epstein files.”

”Modi is so scared about his name appearing in the Epstein files and about his friend Adani being prosecuted in America that he signed a trade deal that compromises the interests of our hard-working farmers,” she told the crowd.

She specifically targeted a reported trade deal under which India is slated to purchase ₹9 lakh crore worth of products from the US. Gandhi argued that this deal forces Indian farmers—many of whom operate on a small scale—into direct, unfair competition with the “large and mechanized” industrial farms of America.

”Why should millions of Indians who work hard to earn an honest living end up paying from their pockets to protect one individual?” she questioned.

UDF’s “Key 5 Guarantees” for Keralam
Turning her focus to the state elections, Gandhi detailed the United Democratic Front’s (UDF) roadmap for a “socially secure” Keralam. She emphasized that these promises were not just “poll slogans” but commitments to the marginalized.

The UDF’s 5 Guarantees include:

Free Travel for Women: Comprehensive free bus travel for every woman across the state.

Support for Students: A monthly stipend of ₹1,000 for every girl student attending college.

Senior Citizen Welfare: An increase in the welfare pension to ₹3,000, alongside the creation of a dedicated Ministry for Senior Citizens.

Youth Entrepreneurship: Interest-free loans of up to ₹5 lakh for young people looking to start their own businesses.

Health for All: A health insurance cover of ₹25 lakh per household under a scheme named after the late former CM Oommen Chandy.

The announcements signal a strong welfare-focused pitch by the Congress-led UDF as political campaigning intensifies in Keralam.

As the campaign in Keralam intensifies, the UDF is positioning itself as the “pro-farmer” and “pro-women” alternative to both the LDF state government and the BJP-led Center.
