Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi said Indian women are among the country’s biggest assets while addressing the “Chhatron Ki Goonj” programme in Pune.

Rahul Gandhi stressed the need to recognise women beyond traditional family identities. He said women are often viewed primarily as daughters, wives or mothers, but argued that these roles should not define their entire identity.

He highlighted the diverse contributions of Indian women across professions and fields, including sports and other areas of public life.

Gandhi said India has “brilliant women” pursuing fascinating and different careers and called for greater recognition of their individual identities, talents and achievements.
