West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari paid floral tribute to legendary Bengali actor Mahanayak Uttam Kumar at his statue in Tollygunge on Thursday, marking the actor’s birth centenary.

The tribute was part of the centenary celebrations organised by the Government of West Bengal to honour Uttam Kumar’s enduring contribution to Bengali cinema.

Eminent personalities and representatives from the film fraternity were present on the occasion. The gathering remembered the legendary actor’s immortal artistic legacy, unparalleled screen presence and lasting contribution to Bengali cinema with deep respect.

Uttam Kumar, widely regarded as the Mahanayak of Bengali cinema, continues to remain an iconic figure whose performances and cinematic legacy have inspired generations of audiences and artists.
