Kick-Off with a Cause: A League of Dreams for Indian Diaspora Kids in Frankfurt

By Editorial Team 👁 39

On a golden summer evening at the iconic FSV Frankfurt stadium, something extraordinary began.

Not just a football league — but a movement.

The Sunday Football League for Indian Diaspora Kids was officially launched as a landmark collaboration between FSV Frankfurt and the India Football Centre, with the support of the Consulate General of India in Frankfurt, and powered by community champions like Ruchi Restaurant and Maitree.

But this is bigger than football.

It’s about identity.
It’s about belonging.
It’s about opportunity.

It’s where Indian roots meet German ambition — on one unified field.

“This initiative plants the seeds of cultural confidence through sport,” said Mr. B.S. Mubarak, Hon’ble Consul General of India in Frankfurt.

“This league is not only a platform for talent — it’s a bridge between cultures,” shared Mr. Robert Lempka, Managing Director of FSV Frankfurt.

“This is a true scouting pathway for diaspora kids — where belonging and ambition grow together,” added Kaushik Moulik, Honorary President of the India Football Centre.

With UEFA-licensed coaching, strong cultural grounding, and mentorship rooted in wellness and celebration, the league is committed to developing players — not just for clubs, but for life.

Special thanks to:

• Mr. Vibha Kant Sharma, Head of Chancery, CGI Frankfurt
• Mohun, Ruchi Restaurant
• Shubrajyoti Basu & Manas Ganguly, Maitree
• And every parent, volunteer, and young dreamer who believes in this vision

This is more than a launch.

It’s a legacy in motion.

A league where German fields embrace Indian dreams.
A space where children grow with pride in both their cultures.

Because the future wears two jerseys — and wins in both.
