Trump Says US Remains NATO's Largest Contributor

By Editorial Team

US President Donald Trump has reaffirmed the United States' commitment to NATO, stating that America remains the alliance's largest financial contributor and possesses the world's strongest military.

Speaking at the NATO Summit, Trump said the United States contributes more to NATO than any other member nation, both financially and in terms of military capability.

He also claimed that America's standing within the alliance has significantly improved.

"They respect us as a country again. They didn't respect us two years ago. They laughed at us. NATO laughed at us. Everybody laughed at us. They don't laugh anymore," Trump said.

The US President highlighted record defence spending, noting that the United States invested $1 trillion in its armed forces this year. He added that his administration would seek a $1.5 trillion defence budget in the upcoming fiscal cycle to further strengthen military capabilities.

Trump also emphasized that the additional funding would be directed toward acquiring the most advanced military equipment, reinforcing what he described as the world's strongest armed forces.

His remarks underscored the administration's continued focus on expanding defence investments while encouraging greater burden-sharing among NATO allies.
